Being a student, I'm interested in two things from a coffee maker - one is it needs to be cheap, and two, it needs to taste good and strong.

I've spent an awful lot of money on Starbucks over the last year, and I needed to pull in the budget. I'm pretty much addicted to a large strong black coffee in the mornings.

Firstly I would say the Senseo coffee machine does make pretty good tasting coffee, all be it not very strong. To get the same taste as from my local coffee shop, I need to brew two coffee pods - doubling the price of course. I've also found I need to limit my double strength coffee to a 6 or 8 oz. to keep the strength up.

I first tried a single coffee pod in the Senseo pod maker, and brewed a 10 oz. cup... it was so weak, I could barely taste the caffeine! But I guess paying under a dollar for a decent cup of coffee is still better than Starbucks.

As far as taste goes, I've been pretty happy. Good variety of coffee pods online from Amazon.com or similar. Though I'm not a fan of the milky or flavored ones.

I'm a 'strong, thick and black' type of coffee drinker. I would not really suggest the Senseo single cup coffee maker if you want this. Maybe I should have gone with an espresso maker instead!

Still pretty happy though, I'll give it a 3.5 out of 5.
